When it comes to choosing where your pet should stay while you’re away, look no further than Sumner Veterinary Hospital! Our convenient location, specialized care, and calm atmosphere make us the top choice for lodging among pet owners. We strive to make this feel like your pet’s second home.
If you are planning to travel overnight for days, weeks, or even a few months, consider lodging your pet during your trip. Your mind will be at peace knowing that your pet is being taken care of in a safe and secure environment. You can add up to two individual one-on-one play times!
How Does Lodging Work?
The different levels of dog lodging we can provide include (*LOC = Level of Care):
Standard – This *LOC comes with everything needed to maintain the health of your pets while in our facility. This means four elimination walks a day, fresh water at all times, bedding changed daily and fed as per your instruction.
Deluxe Care (individual or group options) – This *LOC provides extra activity and attention. Dogs will be taken out for four to six elimination walks a day, have fresh bedding, water, one daily playtime (individual or group playtime offered), and fed per your instruction. Geriatric pets will have extra-soft bedding.
Pampered Care (individual or group options) – Pampered Care provides pets with the ultimate lodging experience with plenty of activity and one-on-one attention. This *LOC comes with the addition of two 15-minute individual playtimes or 60 minutes of group playtime. Dogs will be taken out for four to six elimination walks a day, have fresh bedding, water, two playtimes a day (individual or group playtimes offered), and fed per your instruction.
Puppy/Kitten Lodging (six months and under) – This *LOC comes with all the social interaction and plenty of activity that puppies need! This includes two 15-minute playtimes a day adding up to 30-minutes of puppy play with other puppies or individual plays with our technicians. The daycare screen is free! This also includes four to six elimination breaks, water at all times, fresh bedding daily and fed per your instruction. Kitten Care takes place in the cattery.
Comfort Care – This *LOC comes with the addition of two 15-minute playtimes or comfort times. Medication/supplement administration, six elimination breaks, water at all times, fresh bedding daily and fed per your instruction. Generally, Comfort care is for pets 12 years and up and weighing 40 pounds or less. For larger guests please see our luxury lodging option. Comfort lodging is a private room with a quiet environment for up to six individual lodging guest with a shared television. Exam by RDVM required within 6 months of pets stay.
*Please ensure you bring your pet's food, already portioned per meal and per day. Maintaining their normal diet will reduce stress and helps digestion. Drastic food changes can cause pets to have a lack of appetite, an upset stomach, or even diarrhea. We want to minimize this and make all guests stay as stress-free and pleasant as possible.
*Alternatively, you can opt for the hospital diet for your pet, available in the [Kirkland Signature Brand] for an additional charge. For Deluxe and Pampered, we can arrange to have your dog screened for group play (30 minutes per play) in our Daycare portion of pet services. For more information on Daycare screenings with lodging, do not hesitate to ask.
When Should I Drop Off My Pet for Lodging?
For lodging services, you can drop off your pet during these hours:
6:00 am to 7:00 pm on Weekdays.
6:00 am to 6:00 pm on Weekends.
We offer early drop-off and late pick-up from after-hours until 10 pm for an additional fee.
